You know i may take you up on this... would have to have them modified to pull them in and exit properly. a lot cheaper than buying from corsa!

Can someone explain the benefit of this exhaust system?

It simply raises the exhaust outlets above the water line for sound. No performance advantages.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I don't like these systems. There are two boats (non Cobalts) in our marina that have these systems. We were out in a bay about 3/4 mile from the breakwater exit of our marina last Sunday evening listening to music and talking when one of them came out onto the lake and headed past the bay at full tilt and continued south. the sound was so loud, I couldn't believe it is allowed. We were able to hear the loud exhaust long after we could no longer see the boat.

I was just thinking that there is nothing that destroys the tranquility and relaxation of floating on anchor on a quiet evening than a boat roaring by with a CC system. I'd never own one.

OK, I have a new invention that will make everybody happy. Because a captain's call exhaust usually makes the captain smile and annoys all the boats around him, route the exhaust pointed back toward the interior of the boat instead of facing out the back. There's no likelihood of exhaust fumes given you'll be traveling forward at speed, and it hardly matters with catalytic converters and whatnot these days anyway. Everybody wins!

Or better yet, go the route BMW does and play fake engine noises through the stereo for the enjoyment of the driver. One of the first modifications I made when getting a new car was to turn that thing off.

We don't do that by default, as most people don't want it and find it annoying. You can change it in your own user preferences, or select notification of replies for a particular post by using the full editor for your posts/replies and checking a box below the text entry window saying "notify me when a reply is posted."

as long as the bilge pump can keep up with the wet exhaust i dont see a problem with that! hahaha

Will do, just need to get more info and see if i can make it work. going to try and call Corsa and see if they will get me the dimensions for the curve.
