My buddy just sent this pic. Theres one shallow spot near us. It is well marked, 50 feet deep all around it, but we see this all the time. I saw it twice last weekend.

I can imagine the phone call...

"Hey man, thanks for letting us borrow the boat last night. By the way, I left it parked up by Goat Island."

If he hit this during the day then yes, he was probably hammered as well as an being an idiot.

Its more likely it was nighttime, but he had to be hauling to get that far up, let alone running a big boat that fast in the dark, so hes still an idiot!

I've been trying to capture an impressive lightning strike for several years, but I was always out of position or setup wrong until this week during a trip to Lake Powell, Utah. This was captured with an Olympus E-M1 Mark II with a 7-14mm Pro.

Super hot day outside? Want some shade while you are trying to chill on your go fast boat /w your lake bro but dont have a Bimini? No problem just use a pop up tent. Katie and I couldn't believe it but these two guys spent about 20 minutes setting up a floating tent behind their boat.

Seemed to work OK, they attached it to the boat via the back cleats. Even stayed attached when they moved their boat 3 times because they couldn't figure out how to set an anchor. I originally thought this was a result of some redneck engineering in a garage after a few too many bud lights, but looks like you can buy your very own floating tent from here: http://water-shade.com/ Great people watching on the lake.
