I love this forum for the info and the pics. However, I'm bummed out. I caught up with our dealer last week and R6 Surf that was ordered 3/3 still has no production date in sight. They reiterated Cobalt is really struggling with communication and their best guess is the boat would be delivered early January now. Earliest spray date they are guessing is late October. Dealer also said Cobalt will not hold 2021 price and will charge the dealership the new 2022 price. Mad at myself because I had a R5 Surf available to me at that time but decided to order R6 instead. Our dealer said buy the R5 and enjoy it now while you wait for your new one. Waffling on pulling the plug on the whole idea then just wait a couple of years. I still enjoy seeing all of your boats though.

I would wait, you may have lost this season because you didn't buy the R5, you will miss next season if you cancel the order. Think of it this way, you get a 2022 model where they have probably worked out some kinks from the 2021 model year!

So we just sold our R7 Surf, and placed an order for a 2022 R8... We were told we could expect a may delivery. I'm pretty skeptical! After reading this thread I'm thinking I may miss summer of 22 😳

sounds like my dealer will be ok if we decide to cancel last minute if it doesn't feel right for whatever reason. In the end they just need boats to sell, they'll take anything at this point. They said their allocation for 2022 is much smaller than they expected. thanks for the words I'll wait it out.

Yeah, if you don't buy it, they can probably jack the price up and sell it.

A guy I work with just cancelled his Tesla order due to price increase already, and still more time to increase price again.

I never thought buying a new Cobalt in 2019 would be a sound financial decision.
Turns out it wasn't a bad idea.
I just looked at used Mercedes GLC300. I bought my daughter early graduation present this past January.
Looks like we could sell it for maybe $3000 more than we paid already.

Thanks for your update bcv_23. I'm still waiting for the R8S (again ordered Jan 7, with an estimated delivery 1st week in June), with no updates since late July. I guess no new is good news, after reading your post.
