Re: Headroom in the Head

If you have the porta potty option, you can just take the holding tank with you to dump it. If you have one that needs pumped, you could go to an RV pump station (though some of those are gravity only, which won't work).

Re: Headroom in the Head

Thanks. The pics are very helpful. The biggest limitation I have on width is that we do have to use a trailer to pull the boat out each year.

Headroom in the Head

We have an R5 and the head compartment gets used as a changing room and female passengers make use of the facilities. Is the head compartment larger on an R6/7/8? What about an A29? Thinking of upgrading not just for interior space, but would like a tower, table, and a couple of other features that ...

Re: Dash button label backlighting

Apologies I haven't responded - my dealer is going to look at it when I take the boat in for service this fall.

Re: R6 Reveal Live on July 10th

The brochure that you can download on the Cobalt site has a frost/slate interior pic that does not turn me off the same way that the prototype colors do. Maybe it will grow on me. In any event, I'm not rushing to trade in my R5 and wish they had some of the features that Formula is building into ...

That's not my boat - that's the pic on the Cobalt site. 🙂

Re: Logo in steering wheel

This is the style of wheel I have. I haven't actually noticed if the wheel itself isn't lined up correctly, just that the logo is definitely not right side up.

Logo in steering wheel

This may seem petty, but the Cobalt logo on the steering wheel of our 2018 R5 is not oriented correctly when the prop is centered. Anyone who has installed a newer wheel have any pics that would show how I can remove the logo and turn it right side up?

Re: Appropriate tow vehicle for R5?

We use a GMC Yukon Denali XL. There is a tow mode that works great by changing when the transmission shifts and gives you more info and the air suspension keeps everything balanced. I just made sure to buy a hitch rated for the load - I think it has a 7,500 lb max.

Dash button label backlighting

I thought I saw (but cannot find now) where the labels above the dash buttons are supposed to have backlighting. Definitely did not have that when we went out this evening. Am I off base? If they are supposed to be lit, have others had this issue?

Re: R6 Reveal Live on July 10th

I was thinking that an R8 might be something we would move to from our 2018 R5. This styling just isn't resonating with me though. The helm seat doesn't look like it goes with the new sharp angles. The 2 tone seats also seem loud for what has been a very traditional and classy looking boat. Sort of ...

Re: Adding cockpit table on 242

I am also wanting to add a table to our R5. Would be much nicer than trying to make a sandwich on the sun pad... I'll have to see if we already have a mounting bracket or if I'm starting from scratch.

Re: Stainless steel rails around swim platform

Pics of the damage. The gelcoat stuff is pretty minor. Had a guy fix most of the damage there, he just missed some spots that I'm being picky about. The stainless makes me sick.

Re: Stainless steel rails around swim platform

Thanks for posting this. I have some damage to the rail around my swim platform and on the stainless trim that did its job acting as a bumper in a similar incident. Actually snapped the bolt under the rail. Dealership got the rail back in place and a new bolt but I still have the scratches to ...
