EVC on 2017 R5

While getting our boat ready for the first run of the season, the EVC told me the boat wouldn't start because the gear was engaged. Shifter was in neutral, neutral light was on, and the propeller turned easily forward and reverse. Both batteries have a full charge and the battery switch is turned to ...

Ski pylon problems

So this happened over the weekend on our 2017 R5. The 4 bolts holding the ski pylon receiver base worked loose causing the pylon to lean backwards. Evidently they’ve been working loose for awhile and rounded out the backing plate holes. The bolts didn’t hit anything solid when I tried to put them ...

Re: Makefast bimini slide parts

My dealer just called to say Cobalt is going to repair the Easy Fold slides under warranty. It’s going in Friday and we’ll have it back in time for our annual trek to Table Rock Lake!

Re: Makefast bimini slide parts

Here’s a picture of the offending slide trolly. It tries to lock in the up position, but easily slides back to the down position. Just curious Snowman, where did you get the replacement parts for yours?

Re: R5 Table

Here’s a couple pictures of the table for our 2017 R5. It’s about 33” x 19”. Hope this helps.

Makefast bimini slide parts

One of the Makefast bimini slides on my 2017 R5 won’t lock in the up position. Any one else have this issue and what did you do to fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Is this warrantee work?

I’ve had similar hairline cracks on the bottom of my 2017 R5, plus where the bimini attaches on the starboard side. The bottom cracks were covered under warranty, but Cobalt thought the cracks around the bimini were caused by impact, so that repair was on me.

Re: Buying Cobalt R6

I agree totally with tgrace98 about the trim tabs. My last 4 boats had the walk thru on the driver side leaving less seating on the driver side. With a lot of people in the boat, it would always lean to the left. Not so in our 2017 R5 with the trim tabs. It's a pricey option, but I don't think you ...

Volvo Active Corrosion Protection System

Hello all. I recently brought our 2017 R5 out of the garage to get it ready for the summer. Both batteries were dead. When it was winterized, I turned the battery switch to OFF. After charging the batteries and turning the battery switch to OFF, I noticed the Corrosion Protection lights were still ...
