Re: Boats in driveways
In my city boats and RV’s must be stored behind the front of the house with a gate in front of it. They will let you keep one 72 hrs in the driveway for up to 72 hrs when getting ready for a trip or after you get home. I wouldn't mind if a Cobalt is sitting out front but not so much as a 30 year old ...

Re: Cell booster or Starlink mini? No coverage in coves
The Starlink Mini works great. It comes with a 12 volt plug in and 110. Starlink have plans starting at $50 per month that you can turn the service on and off if you dont use it year round.

Re: R5vs R8surf
On the spec sheet it list’s fiberglass stringers on the R8. I’m not sure if my R5 has the has Kevlar . On my old 190 it had a sticker on it saying Kevlar stringers.

Re: R5vs R8surf
I like the look and interior of my R5. It seems to be better built then the even numbers but I like a lot of the features now offered. Does anyone know when Cobalt changed from Kevlar stringers to fiberglass?

R5vs R8surf
I currently have 19R% Surf that I have been happy with. I made the mistake of going to the Boat Show and checking out a R8 Surf. It's 25 model that is left over.
Has anyone gone from the old series to the newer one with tsurf tabs. Is the wave much better and the performance?

Re: So who has owned a Cobalt boat the longest?
I bought a 2001 190 in 2006 and sold it in 2019. Then bought my current R5 Surf. So that makes 16 years of consecutive cobalt ownership. When I went to the boat show this spring nothing ever tempted me, especially after seeing the price of new boats.

Re: April 2022 Pics
I found the boat that I want in Costa Rica. But I had to settle for a couple of rental wave runners for my boating fix until it’s warm enough to take the R5 out.

55 degree water, to cold for me to get in. Apparently not everyone thought that.
