Warning Beep but no codes?!

Post by MarkP »

I have a 2003 Cobalt 200 series with a 5.0 l GXI Volvo Penta duo prop engine. I am continuing to get a single beep warning from a cold start. The beep does not stop and continues as the engine is on. Initially we had a 1-4 code then it shifted to a 2-2 code. At this point there are no codes - the engine starts and idles but the warning beep goes off within about 15 seconds of engine start up!

The engine starts and idles perfectly. In trying to fix the problem we checked:

Temperature - normal- replaced thermostat and measured heat risers with thermal heat sensor.
Oil pressure - normal - replaced sensor last year.
Leg oil - normal
Grounds - normal

Replaced:

Distributor Cap
Distributor
Ignition coil

Shockingly....still having the beep and we are at a complete loss as to what we should be considering?

Anyone else have this issue?

Thanks,

Mark

.
So glad you found us Mark.

If everything is running perfectly, it could be the alarm beep from the depth finder. What is your preset set at for alarm depth?

And welcome aboard mate.

If it's the depth alarm, this could help. viewtopic.php?t=529
