Trim gauge scale.
Trim gauge scale.
When I bought the boat the trim gauge was not working. I sent the gauge in to have it refurbished and replaced the trim sender. Both are working now however my range is off and I am unable to have full range of motion no matter how I set it up. When the sender is out I can move the pot switch manually and have full range. My question to all with the older mechanical style gauges is, A-what do the lines represent at the 3/4 mark on the gauge? (Picture Attached) B-do you get full range on the gauge when moving the drive up and down? Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Trim gauge scale.
Adjust it so full down shows down. That's the best you can do.

Re: Trim gauge scale.
Thank you for the reply. That is how I set it up last year but it's been like a sliver under the skin when using the boat. Hard to believe that is how it would work when these boats were new.

"my range is off"
Sterndrive, starboard, top: There's a dial to synch the drive and the gauge. Lower drive. Turn wheel completely to port. Loosen dial screw. Turn dial to synch. You'll see the gauge needle move. Key needs to be on. One can do it. Easier with two.

Thank you for the reply. Is this synch dial on the back of the gauge?Kate wrote: Mon Jun 17, 2024 7:42 am "my range is off"

"Is this synch dial on the back of the gauge?"
No. It's on the sterndrive. It looks like a clock dial with notches for adjustments.

Re: Trim gauge scale.
I've always thought the two marks on the panel guage were the
"vertical" indicator... works out pretty close on mine, if I run the
drive all the way down (forward) and set that to full-down position
with the sender.
