R4 interior color choice, need help

Post by Jeffpam »

Trying to decide between frost/summit and frost/slate interior for R4 build. Going with Navy hull side and bottom with frost stripe.
Anyone have thoughts based on pictures or better yet seen one or both in person?

I'm always a white person on a boat. Just takes more work to keep it clean but it's cooler.

I’m with BBP, plus it’s timeless.

Hey Jeffp...so glad you found us my friend.

We have owned both a white hull and now a navy hull with slate gray stripe. We get more compliments on the navy hull but it is harder to keep shined. The white hull was basically no maintenance. Pick your poison I guess.

Any pics?

And welcome aboard mate!

Exterior I'm all about the dark hull. Interior all about the white.

I do like the white shade interiors as well. Like you mentioned...cooler and never goes out of style.

I have to go with white as well. Cooler and will be easier to match in the future if/when rips/tears occur.

We have always had white interior before this boat that we just got. This is our first darker color interior, we went with the slate grey. So far so good, haven’t really noticed it getting any hotter than the white did YET :). Even when we had the white we would have to put towels down if we went to lunch for an hour or so because we knew that the boat would be sitting in the sun. I’m sure we will have to do the same with the grey. We did the navy blue with a black strip, we’ve had that since 2012, I think in 2015 we did a ceramic coating and that basically made it very easy to maintain.

Thanks… we love it but won’t be worth it if it does stay cool. So far so good but haven’t had any really hot days yet.

We haven’t even installed our batteries or de-winterized yet! Been playing too much in Clearwater with the fam, destination weddings, grad parties, etc. Waaaaayyyy behind on the boat this year. Hopefully this week will be our maiden voyage as well with the heat wave coming. Planning on Wednesday to hit the water. Would love to make it to TRL but not enough days to make it happen. Be sure to post pics. 8-)

My first boat was black hull with a white interior, the second was red hull with a white and silver interior. This one is white hull w/black boot stripe and white interior. It is really easy to keep clean and I get a ton of compliments on it, more than I ever had with the other 2 combined. Even after owning it for 7 years!
