Depth finder for 2014 220S

Post by lakeannawilliams »

We have a 2014 220S and love it. The one thing we feel is missing is a depth finder. I believe that it was an available option when new but we bought the boat used. I was wondering if there is actually an option to add a depth finder that would integrate with the cobalt gages/electronics. If so, how do I get the parts and what will it take to install? Not sure if this would be a DIY project or if we would need someone with experience.

We are newbies to this forum. Very happy it is here!

Thanks in advance!

Hey Ed...welcome to the CobaltChat forum. So glad you found us!

Do you have a pic of your 2014 electronics package? It's easy to add the depth finder. The integrating could be a mystery unless you know the make an model of your electronics package/screens.

Plus we love pics here. :D

Again welcome aboard mate!

Welcome and I find it hard to believe someone would order a boat without a depth finder. Anyways what engine is in her? This could be a stk order boat with a 240 in her?

Here are the pics of the dash electronics. The left gages have a small black button that allows you to toggle through choices like fuel level, outside temp, voltage, etc. No depth though!

Also, boat is powered by 300 HP Volvo penta. It's awesome.

Thanks for quick responses. We already feel welcome!

Nice 300 horse in that boat. Good choice. The newer 220 guys will chime in.

I have a 2014 220. Open your engine bay up and look under the front of the motor. If you see a round black piece that goes thru the hull that would be the transducer for your depth finder. Further back from that would be the bilge pump not to be confused with the transducer. If you have that then you have a depth finder which then would be the question of why it's not working. Hope this helps

We have a '13 model which came with a factory depth finder but it is a pain where I need to hit that little button 11 times every time I turn on the ignition to display depth and cannot change that default. From where you sit I would suggest trying to figure out a different way to display depth as you look for a solution.
