Intro from Ohio
Intro from Ohio
I would like to introduce myself to all. Dan Devin from Youngstown Ohio. I finally found the boat I was looking for a 2003 220 496 mag bravo 3. Purchased the boat in the fall and had it out three days before I decided to store it for the winter. Very fast powerful boat! This winter I plan on cleaning buffing and fixing all the little things that need attention. My trailer brakes were not working so I rebuilt the surge brake actuator replaced all soft lines made new stainless hard lines and will replace calipers and rotors with stainless hardware this winter. Needs a new teleflex steering rack and cable the steering has some slop right at the rack and pinion. Also need to replace or have my props reconditioned and balanced. The boat was always on a beautiful lift all its life and the previous owner kept it very clean. I was lucky finding this boat it fits in my shop perfectly. I did have to buy a trax tug to safely maneuver into the shop and that made it effortless. Thanks for reading hope to spend many years here.

Thanks for the warm welcome! You may see that the adhesive pad for my air pump has failed I’m looking for the type and size they used to reattach back in the storage spot.

Those are some fun lakes my friend.
Ever come up to Presque Isle?
Ya that clip for the pump may be found on EBay. I saw one there a few times. Great engine.

Re: Intro from Ohio
Been to presque isle not in a boat though. When I was learning to fly and as a flight instructor I used to take students to Erie because it was hard to get lost and it gave them confidence they could navigate by visual ground clues like a giant lake and Presque Isle. Also my boat is navy blue and white. Love black but it’s hard to buff out. May have to make a trip up that way someday. My family had a shipping company on Lake Erie a long time ago out of Lorain Ohio the Gilchrest shipping company so I have proof of the dangers of the Great Lakes. Water is powerful and that lake can change in a very short time.

Re: Intro from Ohio
Welcome. Your introduction shows you are very like minded with several others on this site ... not sure If that’s good or bad, but you will find some very helpful folks that enjoy doing a lot of tinkering themselves. Enjoy your new boat.
