Bow/ Cabin Covers On or Off During Towing?

I'll be trailering my boat a few hours away to a lake tomorrow. Any suggestions on covers on or off for highway towing?? Thanks!

pic of boat and cover? really depends on the cover. I have towed with cobalts newer style mooring cover several times and it works very well. if weather is nice, just take it off and make sure you secure everything that could fly out

It's a 2001, snap on cover, bow and cabin. Just wasn't sure if people usually tow with them on or off. It doesn't seem like they would blow off. Thanks

A little stress on the front snaps towards the bow. I used to use shrink wrap tape and tape maybe 10 inch near both sides of the bow. Lodder marine taught me that

I always towed with my bow and cockpit covers, and now I tow with a snap on full cover, no issues.

We’ve towed our 262 with the snap-on bow and cockpit covers in place. The only time we ever had an issue was when we “lubricated” the snaps using candle wax for ease in snapping the cover on and off. We almost lost the cover at highway speed. We’ve never lubricated the snaps since .

I just towed 1700 miles with mine no issues. I used duct tape on the frt edges that's it too keep air from getting under it. Normal 1 hr or so trips I wouldn't bother.

I bought the mooring cover knowing I'd be towing and storing the boat with it on, and I've never had a problem. Snaps - I like the idea of wrapping the nose with something to help ensure it doesn't catch wind just wrong and end up on the side of the road.

Shrink wrap tape is great stuff. No marking up the hull or cover and works effectively in spots where the cover may tend to lift up. We added four extra snaps on our 263 front which eliminated the need for shrink wrap tape but we still carry it as a backup.

I Usually tow with it off as I’ve had marring scuffs form on the top sides on previous boats.
