Full cover power ventilation.

Post by Boatrover »

Has anyone thought of putting a fan under the boat cover to circulate/ remove hot moist air. I was thinking of something like a 4” flex line with an in-line blower that would exhaust to the outside (think bilge blower). I would add a thermostat so it would only kick on at a certain temperature. My Boat gets full all day sun and when I uncover it in the middle of the day there are surfaces I cannot touch because they are so hot. It is a Westland Sunbrella cover with vents.

Give me your thoughts!

It could hurt but I'm sure it's still going to be hot. Even up here in the frozen tundra it gets like that. I have a black cover so it gets a bit warm to say the least.

West marine and Overton have the kits . You do use the pole location and open it up.. eeeek

But these have been around for awhile.

The reviews on this unit are not so good. Good idea though.

I keep a fan running under my cover all the time. Ours is garage kept though so I mainly do it for extra ventilation bc it gets so humid here.
I also rigged an overhead fan in our stall so after a day on the water we can put her away and everything can dry out
