BBP, you should have seen the pump I bought to pull it up the dipstick. I got it off of Amazon for like $50, no where in the description did it say it takes 40 strokes per gallon. The 496 holds 9 quarts! I sent that sucker back to Amazon!
Go with the Moeller S33. I pump it maybe 10-15 times and the vacuum is created. It will suck a quart of oil out faster than Cmattj sucks down a lemonade.![]()

Re: Oil Drain Hose
I have a pneumatic fluid extractor that runs on shop air and will suck the pan dry in about 2 minutes, one of the best maintenance tools I've bought. I use it on everything now, except lemonade, like Matt I prefer the old fashion way for that.

Re: Oil Drain Hose
You and A7 should get together on a weekend and each of you could just pull the engine out to change the oilsamuri33 wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 1:02 pmPersonally, I wish Cobalt would've routed the hose to the drain when they installed the engine and bilge pump plate. I would why they didn't.Lockey14s wrote: Tue Dec 17, 2019 12:57 pm good luck! its extremely tight with the big blocks. my 3.0 had a swivel on it so you could swing it around. made it a little easier. it was also chained to the drain plug tho.

I really want to try an route the drain hose out the bilge drain hole, but the damn bilge pump looks like it might be in the way and it's hard to see under there! I might have to send my 4 year old under there to route the hose around the bilge pump and out the drain plug. Hope he doesn't get stuck!

Re: Oil Drain Hose
Warm up the pull first no matter what method you use. Make sure you have water flowing out the drive. Then connect the 12v oil extractor and put the other end in a 10qt cooler.
2 minutes and done.
