How do I get rid of this?
See attached picture. Might have to zoom in. Is this mold? I tried the biokleen with no luck. I’ve also tried vinyl sauce and something like scrubbing bubbles. Nothing is working. I almost wonder if it’s small tears in the vinyl?
Anyone else have this?
Thanks

Use a semi stiff bristled brush with a cleaner of your choice

Re: How do I get rid of this?
I see what Aslan's seeing, but wonder about so much vinyl wear on a 2017 boat. This is on your R7? Can you take a wider picture showing where on the boat it is (i.e., is it a seat back that people crawl over a lot, or is there some other reason for so much wear so early)?

Re: How do I get rid of this?
Yep its my 2017 R7. Its mainly in the bow area of the boat. This pic is actually right behind the anchor locker. It is mostly on the upper part of the vinyl that goes around the inside of the gunwale. Its really not an area that gets walked or stepped on. Mainly just where people might have arms draped over the sides. That said I've seen in a few other spots that are certainly not high traffic areas.
Whether its mold or wear, it seems pretty strange. Man....cobalt sucks....

It looks like the vinyl has been worn through.
Might want to touch up with Vinyl Spray.

Re: How do I get rid of this?
Yeah, I’m thinking some sort of mold or mildew, maybe insect residue down in the cracks like that.
I’ve had decent luck with 3Ms moms and mildew spray, and Starbeite makes a similar one that’s good too. See https://www.westmarine.com/buy/3m--mild ... r--6847826

Re: How do I get rid of this?
Man, I almost posted the exact same thing yesterday, I just got busy. My r7 has the exact same thing in several spots on my boat. I think it is mold. I have tried multiple cleaners and stiff bristled brush, nothing seems to work. I ordered a bottle of mold armor yesterday from amazon. Crossing my finger's.
It is definitely not spider poo. I get that too and that cleans off easily enough.
I have almost exclusively used vinyl sauce and vinyl conditioner on the boat, with the exception of trying different cleaners on these spots.

If it is indeed mold have you tried using bio kleen….. and letting it sit for an hour or two as you keep spraying it on allowing the sun to activate and kill the mold?

I used biokleen but only let it sit there for about 20 seconds before rubbing in with a bristle brush.......so let it sit on there for an hour?AsLan7 wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 2:53 pm.Norris_Boating wrote: Mon Aug 23, 2021 2:28 pm Man, I almost posted the exact same thing yesterday, I just got busy. Yes dwell time is needed for stubborn stains. Let the sun’s UV rays work on that mold (if it’s mold) with coatings of Amazing BioKleen brushed into the vinyl.
