I think I solved the issue of the exhaust temp alarm. I took off the exhaust manifold anode cover plates to see if there was any obstructions in the path and notice that the starboard plate was inverted. The beveled edge of the anode was toward the top and not toward the bottom like the port plate was. Reinstalled and have not had the issue since.

Unfortunately not. But here is a diagram from the service manual.

I got around to check my boat tonight after I saw your post I was curious as well. My starboard side was also upside down. Hopefully next weekend goes without a exhaust temp warning. Thanks for the find and post.

We have an early 2020 R5 with a VP 380 EVC. Just started having the exhaust temp error show up on EVC screen (see pic). Boat seems to run fine though.

I dont know if I am more upset by this or the fact that I didnt know I could connect to the EVC system with Easy Connect :) Can you guys say more about how to do this? No bluetooth code in documentation that came with the boat. Where exactly behind the helm is the module, and how do you get it in pairing mode? I dont see anything on my iPhone under bluetooth...

On the exhaust temp alarm, I just pulled the two exhaust manifold temp sensors (23117173). They seem ok - both reading about 10k ohm resistance and resistance drops with a little heat equivalently on both. Maybe I need to check some other sensors..

Well spent some time down at the boat...

Checked resistance on all 4 exhaust sensors, and they seem fine, yet still get the 1301F on the EVC screen. Is there a way to reset this?

Downloaded Easy Connect, and sure enough it did see the boat. I went through all the boat paperwork which I meticulously keep, and found no EVC code. I did find some stickers. What format is the code in (# characters, digits only, etc)?

Sure enough, the Easy Connect module is "behind the helm" but completely inaccessible. I was able to get a movie of it, but at the wrong angle to see the sticker. Was extremely fearful of losing my iPhone! I have one of those cameras on a gooseneck but couldn't find it :( Is the code anywhere else?

My boat is on Lanier too and have an endoscope you can borrow to try and get a good view of the EVC.

By EVC code are you referring to the Bluetooth password? It is printed on the label of the EasyConnect. It is not that difficult to get access. Pull the top panel inside the driver bow seat compartment.

Great picture! In my R5, the panel in front of the helm is covered with speaker cabling, stereo power relays and fuses, and two JL amps. Is there a panel above this, or do I remove the stereo panel?

Thanks!

It is behind the panel that the amps are mounted to. There are two panels on mine an upper panel and lower panel. The picture is with the upper panel removed

I wonder if you called Cobalt with your HIN they might have a record. My code was written on a piece of paper with Cobalt letterhead.
