New member on Beaver

Post by Shovelstuff »

Picked up this 95' 252 back in early April. It's got the 7.4L Volvo Penta. With 521 hours on it when purchased. Hss about 550 now. She was always stored indoors and maintenance is well documented.

I spent the dry warm days since purchasing her, buffing and polishing out the light oxidation. Also heavily detailed and treated the interior. No flaws in the upholstery except the sundeck has some cracks. I'll have it re-upholstered next winter. I also replaced the batteries, belts and did a tune up. She runs great! Clocked her using GPS with 3 adults and a full tank of gas at 53MPH trimmed out on smooth as glass water. Plenty fast..for now

I also installed a new stereo system. Went with all Kicker parts. Hard to beat the price/performance vs. JL and Wet Sounds. Parts as follows:
KMC5 Media Center with remote
KXM 800.5 5 channel amp
6 KM 6.5" LED Coaxials
2 KM 10" Free Air Subs with LED grills
LED controller with remote
LED strip lighting all around the cabin

My wish list is a swim platform, wake tower and speakers and captain's call exhaust. A slip at Prairie Creek would be nice but that's a loooong wait.

My gorgeous first mate and I love being out on this boat!

Yep! I was on Beaver every almost every weekend last summer. A buddy had a big Sea Ray that always let me tag along. I found all of the sweet lake spots north of the bridge through him. It's more fun on my own boat though and I find myself drinking a lot less. My liver appreciates it lol.

Welcome! And you are right. I’m a totally different drinker on the boat vs at home.

Somebody has to make sure we get home safe.
