I went from a 210 to an R3 which I was worried would be a big step up (and it was). But, I realized that as soon as you are away from the dock it doesn't really matter.
I just learned to move slowly approaching the slip and if I misjudge, just reverse and try again. I will say that with the high freeboard, in a stiff cross wind the handling at slow speeds is more challenging (as compared to my 210) but I just avoided going out on really windy days until I got used to the larger boat size.
