Is it just me not noticing before or did Cobalt add another Garmin 10" glass cockpit option (8610 XSV) which adds sonar capability built in to the 8610 base unit? What would boat owners use the sonar for? Fishing or just staying off the rocks?

It’s really great. My only criticism, and we knew it before we bought it, is that the center storage isn’t well designed. It’s got a small opening and a larger one. Should have just made it one long opening.

Ride is better. Rock solid. Takes any chop far better. Speed is definitely more noticeable.

It looks a bit tight but can you flit a lift in you slip? I’ll be waiting for any R3 to R6 comparisons. I’m currently in an R3 considering a move to an R6 Surf.

The width of the slip isn't so much the issue as the depth of water - so we can't really use a lift unless we dredge. Maybe one day, but not a priority. Getting it in there on a windy day can be "fun" sometimes too. Beam on the R3 and R6 is same so that part felt familiar. I'll say this about the R6 too... it is quieter in the cockpit even at higher speeds. I ran at 35-36 and could talk with my son no problem. I believe the motor is further back in the boat and the extra two feet is all cockpit and transom so that is a huge upgrade from the R3. Also, I got this additional shade sail which I think will be a nice feature come summer. It felt silly when I did it, but now I'm psyched to have it.
