Sardis Lake-Mississippi

Hey gang. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and have been building Christmas lists of boating accessories like I have!

Anyway-I have a question. Our boating lake-Lake Monroe in southern Indiana is a lake I grew up on and know very well. I also trailer to Dale Hollow every year and boat there-but it is such a deep lake-I am never worried about water hazards.

Now-We are considering taking our 220S to Sardis Lake Mississippi next may for a week while we stay in town to watch our daughter graduate one weekend, and my son get his 2020 make up graduation the next weekend. Any thoughts from this group about that lake? The Marina? (We are thinking of leasing dock space for the week so that boat can stay in the water). I am always worried about new lakes and below water obstacles, and if the lake is any fun-it always looks so dirty with the clay shoreline.

Anyone here boat on it before and have good advice?

It is likely easier to rent a boat while you are in town. Or you could drive over to Pickwick Lake (Iuka, MS) about 1:45 minutes from Sardis. You can rent a slip there and probably be more enjoyable.

Maybe late to the conversation but I'm a north Mississippi resident.
The first two years we owned a boat, we trailered it to Sardis and Enid lakes. On both lakes you have to worry about tree tops just below the surface as neither lake is very deep. Sardis is bigger but Enid is closer to I-55 so we went there more due to cell phone coverage. Pickwick is better, but it was an hour further for us, with the same dark silty water as Sardis and Enid. Bigger lakes in Mississippi are in State Parks. Adult beverages are against the law.
Life jackets are required if the engine is on or the boat is moving. For these reasons and crystal clear deep water, we boat in Arkansas.

Where is you daughter getting her degree? Ours is graduating from Ole Miss on May 1.
