I wonder if the R6/8 are the last gen of Cobalt before they start exploring different power options? Perhaps a EcoBoost Powerplant from Indmar or maybe something EV...or I guess EB for Electric Boat?

Speaking of Batteries, Liquid have you considered if a dyson Stick Vacuum could solve your issues? I mean of course thunder is crazy for suggesting your just drop your standard upright vacuum into the pool, the cord would be such a limiting factor, but what about something cordless? Katie bought a Dyson V8 last year and loves it. It does a great job for cleanups around our house, I don't see why it couldn't work in your application as well.

So Jeef Katie bought a Dyson with a v8 or was it a bday present to her from you?
Was it the 380 or 430 model when you know the 240v6 is more efficient and the roller speed from the charts spins at 4.6 ft per second.
Liquid that puppyoo r6 looks like a very sick model but it won't except 5g.that's a game changer. It says you can control it with your app so if your 5g is turned on it won't work! Plus I can see you working from home know cleaning your pooool with your app and your finger going all over your phone all day not getting anything done and we didn't get a chance to buy gamestop! Thanks for the tip on that one! We all could have owned a new Cobu!

Would a shop vac be more effective?

They are designed to extract water. You could target debris without having a vacuum dancing and spraying outside the pool.
But that sounds fun as well .

I think y'all have missed the point entirely. Liquid needs maximum sucking power. The R6 sucks. Just sayin... Unless it has a V8. If you can get one in a Dyson you should be able to get one in a R6.

Now as to no head, no sink, no alcohol? I don't understand that rule. What could that possibly mean? Who came up with that rule and why? Did a drunk RuleMaker get stuck out on a boat with a need to upchuck and no place to wash his face? Odd.

We should discuss further...

I don't understand the rule either YT, but these are Canadians we are talking about.

Step 1 is determining how detailed this rule is. For example, could I purchase a large 5 gallon bucket at Lowes and keep it in the engine compartment? When the Canadian Mounted Police do their boat inspection I could just point to that and say it serves as both my head and sink...because really what cant you do with a 5 gallon bucket?

This raises a large issue, how do the Canadian Royal Mounted police patrol the water? Can their horses swim?

More like a time machine A7. ;)

I really appreciate everyone’s insight. I’ll do some more research later as I’m about to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2 with the boys.

That reminds me. Did we ever finish our conversation about watching the marvel universe in timeline order or order of release?

I feel there are merits to both.

That explains the giant bumps on the sides of their pants...built in flotation devices. I always wondered.

Back on topic.....I would spec the 8.2Mag HO. It seems we have all become grey engine snobs around here and have forgotten about the Merc Offerings. Black engines matter, plus who wouldn't want a HO if given the choice?

I don't know what to make of this thread. Just trying to pass on information/impressions of the new R6 for those who haven't had a chance to go through the boat.

As to drinking regulations, if memory serves, in Canada we need to have a head and a sink to have open liquor on a boat. Inland lake enforcement is by RCMP and/or Coast Guard. In busier inland areas, the RCMP/Coast Guard has in the past "deputized" people working for Department of Natural Resources which oversees beaches (beach patrol) and I was once stopped close to shore for pulling two youth on a tube behind a 3 seater Sea Doo (lost count - the total can only be one in the tube because you need a spotter where I boat). I was issued a warning.

A poll of the female friends I boat with last night shows little need for a head. Most said they wouldn't use it and would be asked to be taken back to shore/clubhouse. Anyway, storage, head, changing room for kids - lots of space in there. :)

Btw Nautie, those jumps are not floatation. They're water wingflappers. Silly..

Don’t overthink it Bobrae. Just relax and let it happen.

I do appreciate your impressions of the boat. Now what I really want to know is if you’re a timeline guy or an order of release guy?
