Good Lord...a ground up restoration. You don't see that much with Cobalt boats. What an art. Thank you for posting pics my friend. Got her out of the ICU and ready to run a marathon. Feel free to post more.

btw, that guy with the mask on surrounded by fiberglass flecks....no way Covid could beat him. I think he may have lungs of steel (or fiberglass) ;) .

I would have been wearing a lot better mask working with all that fiberglass dust!

Looks good.

How is the engine?

Oh! so you didn't see what the original engine was like?

Where did you get a new engine?

I had a scare with my current(for sale) non Cobalt boat and was looking at a new 7.4L engine. Figured around $6k plus other parts of around $1k.

I see a lot of threads on other forums with ground up restores. A lot of them are on boats that don't really deserve it in the first place....like Bayliners.

Nice to do it on a boat that actually has some underlying value.

Out of curiosity, what did you do with the stringers and transom?

Is the original engine and we changed all posible things in outside by new. The guy working on it told me is running good but I haven’t seen it running. I will post the update once in the water.

Transom was completely damaged... we made it completely out of fiberglass and coremat. Please check pics. For stringers only had to change one to fiberglass all other where in good condition.

Love this! Lots of Donzi guys doing this on the old classics!
Do you do this by trade? I have to ask what do you do?
You paint you glass. That's awesome!
Those pictures of the area are much better than Google!
