Windlass anchor?

Bow jewelry. I think it’s a work of art. If you get a boat with it, make sure it’s attached from the factory. Don’t ask me how I found out it wasn’t. Cobalt did replace under warranty though which was pretty cool. It was very simple to use and was great for one time of use.

Correct. It went bye bye to the bottom. But I think it was the other end and it was a bitter end

...that’s funny. Now I’m not going to be able to look at a windlass on a smaller boat without thinking of sponge bob (or bugs bunny for the older crowd)

Roll into a cove, pick a spot, hit the button, short reverse bump, then pop a cold one! When it's time to go, retrieval is even easier.

I agree. I don't think the windlass ruins the look of the bow although I'll admit the boat does look "cleaner" without one. On the other hand, if you anchor a lot it might be worth it. Pushing a button vs hauling up a heavy anchor might be worth the "look" at the front of eh boat for some.

I think the way it’s attached to the boat and the weld lines are really cool. Like it or not, it’s flashy, in more ways than one. Like I said, I like it.

That's why I use a 4# Fortress aluminum anchor. The heaviest part is 15' of 1/4" chain.

I don’t think you will regret having the windlass one bit! I bought mine with one and I was indifferent that it had one.x. My wife and I will not own another boat without one. I have only pulled it up once when it actually had mad on it. We use lake with muddy bottom. I think it does a good job of cleaning itself on the way up.

What’s the weight of the boat you use it for? R6 is 6,000 pounds.

4800# but the weight is not really as big of an issue as the area that the wind hits. The FX-7 is recommended up to 27'. Also depends on where you anchor and what you anchor in. I anchor mainly in sandy bottoms. If you anchor in mud, you may need the next larger size.

On my current boat, I anchored one night over at the channel islands off of los angeles in 20MPH winds with my enclosure up so I had a LOT of wind area that was being hit. Boat didn't budge.

I use the FX7 on my R7 and never have a problem, even in strong current/ wind.
