Sept 2020 pics.

Post by Big Block Power »

This might have been the last boating weekend for us?

Shot of getting ready to hit the water. Just waiting on the toon sitting in the ramp
Brother with 2 of my SIL's
It was funny as my brother was taking this I gave the throttle a little goose and he flew towards them. I cracked up. 😂😂

And me right after I did that. I posed and pulled my old man hat down to be a pirate. I can see it sorry if you can't 🤔

And one of my other brother. His son and 2 grand kids up in the bow. She was a full boat today and my wife was smart and stayed home.

We laid out of work last Wednesday. Sorta. ;) I answered the phone when it rang. Took the boat over to nearby Percy Priest Lake (landlocked lake just East of Nashville) and had a great day. Was able to visit places that are normally packed full on weekends. Priest is a rock bottom lake, notorious for deep channels, and just a little bit out of channel is a place to test your prop. We do have some nice places to stop in the middle of the lake and walk around in 1 foot deep water.

Here is Elaine hard at work. :D

Just off the Channel.

And nice smooth water. Usually during the weekend this pass is fairly choppy. Not today!

This is from another day. This is a deep channel, (40/50ish at the bottom, ) but a sphincter tightening 5 to 10 just outside of the buoys.

We also made it out on Friday evening, before the rains of the weekend. Currently we are flooding and Old Hickory is earning it's nickname of "Old Stickery."

But our Friday evening on the water was a good night!

Always keep a lookout dog on point!

Lights came on all over, even the sky!

And of course, a customary wake shot.

Friday evening was a pretty sunset.

The next morning I saw one of these. I think they're pretty rare.

Ah the tourist have all cleared out and I have the lake all to myself again. Well not really but after the crazy busy summer on the lake it sure felt like it. Great weather this weekend despite smoke filling the sky from those fires all the way out in CA.

This was before all the tourists cleared out at Table Rock. It was a great weekend, and we covered a ton of miles. We even met tgrace98 in Naked Cove for a few hours. (I’m not sure why they call it that, and Grace assured me that it was fine to stay in my swim trunks).

Took the boat out Satuday for a few hours. NIce temperture, just in the mid 90's, but was really hazy due to the western fires.

Seattle over the weekend, Saturday mid afternoon:

Seattle last Wednesday, smoke was just starting to filter in:

Hopefully it blows away soon and we get some rain. Usually September around here is fantastic out on the lake, less crowded but still warm.
