What is this?

This was in the bottom of my hull. It looks like some kind of a pick up. I have a 1987 454.

First guess: Intake for the bottom of the fuel tank.

I'm suprised you don't have a definative answer yet with this group.

What head does she have??..07 as it can be a hull water pick up for the toilet water. The engine compartment may have a switch type valve over it.
