Hate to see the upholstery get dirty but more importantly, having anything in front of the moving pullies and serpentine belt of the engine is a no-no. Danger Wil Robinson.

Meh, I keep mine stowed in the bilge and other than being a 2 person job to get it out and up it’s fine.
.
Man akor,, I wouldn’t even think of doing that. It’s a tight squeeze between the firewall and the serpentine belt on the 260 series hull. Best to keep that area clear.

...plus we rock the house with our boat baby. 8-) We would shred it for sure.
.
I keep it there because that’s where Cobalt designed it to be. There’s hooks and straps to secure it back there. Kind of a pain. I plan on having the cover modified to go around the Bimini so I can leave it up.

Well that makes more sense then. Definitely not designed to do that on the 260 series.

I’d gladly give it up for a walk through!

Welcome from Oklahoma! And welcome to the 260 series club!

A7 a friend just bought a 252 like Akors and they have a rain bimini stored there. When I saw the pic9I asked the same thing! It attaches to the windscreen old school style and barley extends past the seats. Then they have the regular full size bimini that folds up in the air and deploys over the cockpit.

But I agree, on a 260 that is a tight squeeze and something I don't think it was designed for.

Thanks for the welcome Ytmsn, and for clearing up why I have two tops. Learned a new term - Rain Bimini. Salesman explained it attached low but didnt use that term. Cant wait to get out there on the water, turn the kids loose and practice swapping tops. There were 3 covers stashed in the boat as well still need to go through those and see what's what.

The one that attached to the windscreen is a convertible top. The other is a bikini. Lol

I took a closer look at the setup for storage on the CONVERTIBLE TOP  ...If its not a factory job the previous owner did a pretty good job with the install - location and hardware look spot on. I will keep an eye on it.

That looks like a factory product Bd4. Is there a hold down on the starboard side? I think you’ll be ok with that set up as long as it’s clipped in like that.

That being said, just be aware of how close the serpentine belt and pullies are. They will eat that fabric up.

Nice looking boat! I was looking at the pictures and it appears that you have 110v power running into your engine compartment for your battery maintainer. Last night I finished up my shore power install and it is very similar to yours. Once power was into the engine compartment I was able to run wire along the port side under the seats and into the cabin area under the sink. I installed a 110v plug in the cabin. I like to run a fan in the cabin and in the engine bay while the boat is on the trailer to keep everything dry. I did not get a chance to take pictures of the cabin plug but did take a picture of the rear of the boat. I removed my shower (never use it) and the shore power plug fit right in.

Nice Red Stripe clean looking install and I really like the idea of keeping air moving under cover. I'll add it on the list of items to do. 1 week into ownership and I have a year worth of projects!
