Thinking of a new tow vehicle.

Yes we will have to see what happens. The bad is they don't allow rebates with it. So the rebates are larger than the interest. I looked at a new Durango yesterday but no financing on it and no good rebate so I didn't make the move. I was hoping for lower rate and no payment now because I'm not working. Suburbans were way to far out of my price range. So crossed those out as well. So I'll stick with what I got. So the waiting game will continue. We aren't even seeing vehicles now so I might have to drive to Cali to visit Matt when they offer something better

I imagine inventory may start to dry up with the factories slowing down or stopping altogether. If this drags on they will have to start combining some of those offers I would think. I remember some killer deals back in 2008. I'm really wanting to buy another truck to designate as my daily driver (even though I have a take home car). My business requires my personal truck to be out on the streets all the time, and when it is at my house it is constantly hooked to a trailer. I would love to have a new truck that we designate as our road trip/boat towing vehicle. 84 months and some awesome incentives might mean I can get well into Laramie and possibly into Limited territory.

Sorry to hear you are out of work. This thing really sucks for so many people. I really hope as it starts to warm up that we kick this thing into the ocean fast.

We were going to try to tow the last boat with the Admiral's car, was hoping for better gas mileage.
Apparently due to some short sighted penny pincher at Mini, they don't offer a 7 pin brake controller for the car.

That's awesome captain!! I towed a 20 stingray old heavy one with my z28. That was a picture too. Lol
I had to use the boat to push the car up the ramp. That was funny too watch.

What's the old saying...."poor people got poor ways"....I used to pull a jetski with a Honda Del Sol.....a whopping 113flbs of torque and I did it through the hill country in San Antonio around Canyon Lake. I didn't give it a second thought, now I wonder if my full sized SUV is enough for the R3....*sigh*. I gues sometimes ignorance is bliss.

I too have thought about vehicles and wonder if the market will get very competitive. I like the sound of 0%, but I still have a mental block on 84 months. Vehicles have gotten crazy expensive it seems---my last purchase was in 2014.

As storage transfer yards are cleansing inventory we have been receiving 10 vehicle a day.
Yes it’s mean to sales. But it allows my service to stay alive.

It’s requires us to now hold the vehicles before normal release allocation thus start the $$$ flooring expense to us. ( clever right ?)

This in a time were our sales department is appointment only.
So I’ll give mfg kudos for doing a zero / 84 . But consumer confidence ( as we see ) is weak in the buying in most sectors. As BB stated check to see what incentives or rebates are omitted. Depends on MFG and model.

Well back then a new car was $2 500.00 now everything is $50,000-$100,000
84 is the norm now. The good thing is they last that long.

84 is the norm now. The good thing is they last that long.

Yeah that was the tipping point for me when I bought my current truck. I had never gone more than 48 months, but they immediately offered my 84. At first I thought it was ridiculous, but here I am 7 years later, truck paid off, and just went out of warranty. The good thing is, like you said, they will last that long.

All good points, but still, it's 84 months. 7 Years. I know the build quality is much better in recent times, but still. I think a lot of it depends on geography. Up here, rust starts to eat them before 7 years....besides, if I am honest, I'll likely get tired of a vehicle before 7 years is up. I admit, I've had my tow vehicle for 11 years, but it's a very limited use vehicle, so I'm not in it everyday. My other holdup is I don't know what I'll need in 7 years. Buy a 3/4 ton today, get rid of the boat in 3 years, don't need the truck, take the hit...blah, blah....

I hate revolving debt, even at 0%

Yes of you don't keep it you will be upside down and not in a good way. I would love to get a new car every couple of years. But they are not $500.00 vehicles anymore.
My used clown car now is I think 2 years old with me and I still love it like day 1. Sometimes you just have to find that vehicle. Our last suburban we had for only a few years before it rusted. I love the durango but the wife doesn't. So when the right vehicle comes along for her it's gone. If I bought a new suburban with a 6.2 in it we will have it for 10 years no questions asked. But I won't pay 600 or 700 a month to own it. Hell 500 is too much but I'm paying that. I remember paying 300 and that was my top. Now look at it. We are all crazy in the head. $35000.00 used boats $120,000.00 new boats. We are crazy.
Then boom a stupid virus comes along and your unemployed who would have thought!

I usually pull the R3 with my 2010 Ram 3500 Mega Cab with the 6.7 Cummins but this last weekend was just a short 20 mile each way trip to our local pond and we had an extra kid with us, so I decided to pull with my 09 Yukon XL for seat space. Had 1/4 tank of fuel when we left the house and was showing 112 miles DTE...let's just say the 5.3 V8 doesn't like pulling the R3! I turned the last corner into the gas pumps taking the extra kid home after dropping the boat at home that evening and the Yukon died literally a vehicle length from the gas pumps and wouldn't start. I had to borrow a gas can, put a gallon in it to get it to start and then finished filling it up....30 gallon tank and it held 33. Holy smokes...never done that before. Lesson learned I guess on fuel consumption...was getting 8 mpg at best...towed fine and felt good braking, etc. but man did it eat the fuel! I've got almost 200,000 miles on the Yukon and looking to upgrade my daily driver in the next year or so....looking at the specs on the new Yukon's with the EcoDiesel's....anyone have any input on those?
