Man, great pics! I was at Martin this past weekend and it was awesome. A lot of rookie boaters out, this weekend is going to be crazy. I did a night drive from Reel Island to Still Waters with the blue outdrive light and cockpit LED’s rocking with some tunes playing. It was freaking awesome! What were the kids allowed to eat on the boat? Pretzels and Waters? Ha!!

I did have a blue towel that has been washed - million times kind of bleed into the vinyl. I got most of it out but not all out with some upholstery cleaner that came with the boat. I left the towel on the boat to dry over night. Not sure why it bled. Hmm

Buy some Amazing cleaner by Bio Kleen and then buy there conditioner clean out then let the boat sit open in the sun and it might take the dye out. It worked for me on a diff boat. Then add conditioner.

Can you share how the ceramic coating held up and if you would do it again? I got a quote for my boat. $600 for the ceramic coating. $900 for a protectant added to the Bimini top and boat cover or something. Worth it?

Belated welcome from Texas and beautiful boat. I must know more about the ceramic coating. I've never heard of that. Please tell us what it involves and the cost. I see that you don't need to wax it, but how does it do with water spots. Most of us on here keep our boats pretty clean, so waxing isn't a huge deal, but water spots can be. Does that coating bead and shed water better?

I've never used it but like having any good wax on your boat is going to shed water. I would say you're always going to get water spots. I personally wouldn't spend the money but most people are not like me. There was a few guys on here that had it done but they are not in here very often.

Going with the wax for $250 vs more like $1,000 for the ceramic!

Sorry for the very late reply on this. Ceramic coating (usually a Silica Dioxide base) is a coating that is applied to the surface of the paint or gelcoat with boats that binds with the surface creating a glass like finish. The process is fairly labor intensive (which is what drives the cost) as the surface needs to be flawless prior to application, or those flaws will be “locked” into the finish by the layer of ceramic coating. It creates a hard, water repellent surface that last for 3 years on boats, and anywhere from 3-7 years on Cars. No waxing and very easy cleaning. I’ve done it to all of our cars as well. This is my second season with the finish, and I must say that I’m pleased. The cost was around $1400.

Yes, ceramic FTW. Have done both my vehicles and boat. Like you said, very labor intensive, but makes regular cleaning soo much easier. Not to mention the glossiness that you get from the coating.
