It’s a cabin rental. But, it has a fire ring and it is right on the water.

Re: February 2020
Wanted to check a couple of things, so took the boat out on Saturday. Air temp was about 65. Launched and retrieved by myself for the 1st time with this boat.

Re: February 2020
She ran well. Last time out 2 weeks ago, we had a few gallons of water come out of the bilge when the plug was removed. My son pulled the plug and let me know. On the threads of the plug was a loose piece of metal, like a piece of chrome. I was thinking that the piece of metal was preventing a good seal. After getting back home, I parked on a slope with the stern down and filled the bilge with a few gallons of water with the plug in. No leaks. Then I hooked up the hose to the blue water inlet and started it up. No leaks there either. I also had just had the impeller replaced a couple of weeks earlier along with oil, etc, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't an impeller installation issue. Also on that earlier trip I hit a sandbar not once, but twice so I was also wondering what damage that might have done... So, for the past 2 weeks, I had been racking my brain wondering where the leak was coming from.
So, I launched by myself, fired up the boat and let it idle for a few minutes. Shut it down and raised the engine cover. Big leak! But it was an odd leak, with water splashed about. I realized I forgot to put the cap on the hose connection! Dried out the bilge with towels and stayed dry for the next couple of hours.
As for hitting the sand bar(s) 2 weeks ago, it was a bit embarrassing at the time. When we launched, I didn't notice that the water was down a couple of feet. We wanted to get up to a breakfast spot up the river. It is right at where I-40 crosses the Colorado River. It means going to the north end of Lake Havasu where the Colorado River fills it and continuing north several miles. There are several sand bars there where the river meets the lake. We have seen many boats stuck out there in the past and know the 'good' route. As we were passing from the lake to the river, my wife mentioned that a whole flock of birds about 100 yards to the east were 'standing' in the lake. That should have been a big red flag. About a minute later while slowing for a Jon boat, it felt like someone applied the brakes. My son, his girlfriend and I hopped off and pushed us to a deeper spot where we were able to get going. Determined to not miss the 11:00am breakfast cutoff, we continued north. About 1/2 mile further up, we ran through a really shallow area and decided to turn around and to miss out on pancakes. Got stuck on one more sandbar on the way back, Seems weird to stand in the middle of a lake.

Re: February 2020
I think T5billion knows that exact spot. He pooped his pacts the first year there. The next year he followed a tour boat or something like that.
So when you were coming into havasu where you can see the shore on each side in your picture I think a park might be on the right side. It's that where all the boats park during spring break?

Re: February 2020
Here is a map of the best line between the lake and the river. We weren't even in the red area. I'm sure the sand shifts.Big Block Power wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2020 5:41 pm I think T5billion knows that exact spot. He pooped his pacts the first year there. Yes, on the right is a park. It's wild at Spring break.
