Well, not going to happen until end of season because of the work involved.

My concern is that, if it’s the same material with the same finish, it’ll just happen again.

I’m really hoping cobalt will change the design before sending more if the same. I’m even willing to test it, if they need it.

I was thinking about just waiting until the end of the season to bring it to their attention as well. I have several things that need fixing but they told me they're about six weeks out for warranty work so I'll just wait as I don't want to lose any boating season. Hopefully they'll have a better solution then. I'm just glad I'm not the only one with the issue as I've probably tried a dozen different cleaners to get it off and non have worked.

Just FYI... trying to make sure cobalt aware that others have this issue. If you have this going on, post it here. I know there may not be many cs on the water yet, but awareness will get this design issue corrected.

So the factory has now told my dealer that they believe this dash shouldn’t stain. Well, they are wrong. It’s a horrible design and is embarrassing to look at in a $70,000+ boat. I’ll be contacting cobalt directly.

It’s a horrible design. It needs to be acrylic, wrapped in vinyl, or painted in a better way.

If more are having this issue, please speak up. I know there aren’t many CS out there yet...

So are they still going to replace it, or have they changed their tune? They will soon realize, if they haven’t already, that this is going to be a large scale problem. I’m just hopeful they will address it properly with an improved replacement.

They have said that they will replace it. My dealer wants to wait till end of the season because of all the labor involved with taking apart both dashes. Our (me and dealer) concern is that the replacement stuff will just do it again.

Yep, that’s the way mine started too.

I actually have been talking with a rep from cobalt (I put comments on their website, as well as through my dealer). Apparently, they know about the issue and are working to find a solution. This thrills me that that any replacement parts will have the same issue, until a permanent solution is found.

Personally, I’m looking at doing a vinyl wrap or a paint finish on it. I was told that I could keep the bad parts, so I figure might as well.

Let us know when you get your dash back. My dealer is doing mine next month. Was hoping they would have a new material but it sounds like it’s going to be a replacement of the same stuff.

Have the parts hydro-dipped before install, they'll never stain again. I'm having my dash panels dipped next season, much better than vinyl wrap, and I do vinyl work as a hobby.
