Perfect Pass Reviews
Perfect Pass Reviews
Anyone want to provide feedback on the perfect pass system they purchased with the boat?
How do you like it? What water sports do you use it for? Is it now a must have in your opinion?
Also, where did the factory mount the GPS receiver?
I am thinking of making the upgrade. They have a cobalt gauge that would replace my tachometer (which is ok bc the new gauge has gps speed and a digital tach)
Thanks

Samuri33 is currently looking at a 262 with that system installed. Maybe he can chime in after a test drive.

There is a reason they call them the Marriage Saver option, lol.

I have the perfect pass system on my 232. I have honestly never used it, but I do like the GPS speedometer. The GPS receiver is mounted just forward of my windshield. It’s just a small round Garmin GPS receiver.

Re: Perfect Pass Reviews
Mine came w it, but it’s the older version that uses a paddle for the speedo and not GPS. Other that the cool gauge on the dash, it’s been used twice and that’s to see how it works. I guess if you need it for sports, it is a nice feature to have.

Adam, do you have a picture of what your PerfectPass gauge looks like on the dash?

The older paddle wheel style work great as long as you’re not on a river with current.

Re: Perfect Pass Reviews
Have you seen the concoction with the throttle setup on the older version? There is a little motor w an adjustable line that attaches to the throttle body arm. Never got the concept of how it works but I guess I haven’t really studied it. It might be the same on the newer units as well.akorcovelos wrote: Sat Aug 24, 2019 12:48 am The older paddle wheel style work great as long as you’re not on a river with current.

Re: Perfect Pass Reviews
Yeah, I was looking to put one on my old boat before we sold it. It’s even weirder for carves engines, but it works okay, certainly not as good as the modern ones, but a nice upgrade for a stern drive trying to be a tow boat.

Re: Perfect Pass Reviews
I have it on our 2015 220s w/350 Mag, Bravo 3 drive. It works just fine and does do a good job of very accurately maintaining speed for skiers, but the manual's instructions to "bring speed up smoothly" don't really work for getting slalom skiers up. We put the throttle down, PP beeps when you've hit the target speed, hands off and it levels out fairly quickly. If you hold the throttle down a little longer than necessary, it may take a moment or two to stabilize at the target speed. There is a parameter you can adjust to better match how hard you want to 'hit it!' but I haven't found it necessary to change anything yet. We've only had the boat for a few weeks now though...

Thanks Sean, any chance you can show a pic of where you mounted the PP unit? Prob putting one on my boat soon.canuck1 wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:53 pm I have it on our 2015 220s w/350 Mag, Bravo 3 drive. Shouldn't need to "put the throttle down"canuck1 wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2019 3:53 pm but the manual's instructions to "bring speed up smoothly" don't really work for getting slalom skiers up. We put the throttle down,
I'm able to smoothly put up wakeboard and slalom skiers..
