Now that I took delivery of this beauty on Tuesday I thought I would post for the first time. She’s docked in Charlotte, Vermont. Very smooth delivery although still trying to calibrate the fuel gauge. Found the instructions online and hopefully that works. Looking forward to many hours of fun on Champlain!

Looks great. I grew up in Trois-Rivieres, PQ and have fond memories of Champlain and Lake George. Nothing beats clear, crisp northern lakes, hence why we have a place in MN. Welcome aboard!

Hi Tyler, congratulations and thanks for sharing a picture of your boat. Can I ask what steps you have taken yourself to calibrate the fuel gauge? I have found reference to this on theVolvo Penta support site, but it said this was a dealer procedure. I get my R3 on Tuesday and have asked the dealer to complete this as part of the PDI. They are reviewing the materials. Enjoy your new boat.

You are correct this is a dealer procedure. The dealer actually put about 1hr on my boat calibrating mine and testing other things. They said to me it had to be calibrated with a full tank of fuel.

You are correct this is a dealer procedure. The dealer actually put about 1hr on my boat calibrating mine and testing other things. They said to me it had to be calibrated with a full tank of fuel.

I'll be at the dealership this morning doing a pre purchase inspection of the interior of my new boat and will ask the service department what they found out about the procedure. If I recall, the dealer has to start with less than 20% of fuel in the tank and then fill it in certain increments, hitting a set button on the panel at each fill step. I'm not sure how the dealership does this unless they have the boat parked at a gas station or a dockside fuel supply? Maybe that means most are not calibrated?

correct again. I just didn't drive into all the details. Mine is pretty accurate. Like most fuel gauges the last half seems to go faster than the top half

I met with the sales manager this morning. He said service has "run my boat up" already as part of the PDI and it just needs cleaning, detailing and attention to the fuel sensor. They were still looking into that. I can report what they find if anyone is interested.

You should post those in the forsale section. It looks like Gator Step made them. Why did you buy them and have them made and not use them?

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I bought an inventory boat from EastCoast Flightcraft which was configured nearly identical to what I would have custom ordered: Navy hull with sandstone edge, bow cushion insert, dinette table, bimini, docking lights, seagrass floor, Makassar trim, porta potti, sof-trac swim mat. Despite the strong opinions here, I got a 300HP Volvo which given that most of my boating will be just my family, I saw no need for a bigger engine...perhaps this will just be justification in a few years to trade up!

With respect to the fuel gauge, I found this file --> https://monomarine.nl/prosales.penta.vo ... 704050.pdf which shows the procedure for multi-point calibration. Still looking for how a full tank calibration can be done on my own and will try and get the multi-point done next spring.
