Re: Tried out our new umbrella holder.
DJB, that looks awesome!
Could you let me know what umbrella you are using? I'm going to try to pull together a database of 1.375" diameter umbrellas that are compatible with the adapter..
Thanks!

Driller, without the bottom half, was the umbrella still tall enough to walk underneath on the 242? I want pics!

It is a little higher than the Bimini (6” -1 ft). I think you will be able to stand under it, but need to check. Will try and send pics next weekend.

Tried mine today on the R5. Fit, finish, price and Chris couldn’t be nicer. Jump all over this and you will not be sorry. Couple it with a $29.99 Walmart umbrella and you are good to go!

Re: Tried out our new umbrella holder.
We used ours this weekend first time as well. Actually had the mount from Chris (slideruleracer) and the umbrella in hand before we took delivery of the new R7 Surf (traded in our 2006 220) last week.
I can't say enough about how awesome this setup is...and what a deal it is compared to the OEM. We got our mount for ~$260 and the 9' Lowe's umbrella for ~$90 delivered. $350 vs ~$1200? I think I can handle that. And we like the blue/white strip on the umbrella better and the blue matches great. Comes with a storage bag and fits in the r7 ski locker easily.
Photo makes it look smaller than it is. We have the 9' umbrella (here on just the short pole) and it provides great coverage. Everyone who saw it commented on how cool it was.
if you don't have one get one...1) because it's awesome and completely changes the experience on the back deck...and 2) to support Chris (and folks like him who are contributing cool and cost-effective solutions to the community.)
Thanks Chris!

Hey Steve, welcome to the Cobaltchat forum. So glad you found us!
That picture looks great. Your umbrella color matches so nicely.
Feel free to start an intro thread if you have the time. We enjoy reading how folks get into their precious Cobalts.
Keep those pics coming.
Again, welcome aboard mate!

Re: Tried out our new umbrella holder.
Had mine out this weekend. It is nice to have for sure and very reasonably priced by slide. Well worth it if you have the possibility with your particular cobalt model.

Re: Tried out our new umbrella holder.
We ordered another 9' from Lowes (wasn't available in our local store) a solid Navy 9' and it did not fit. Too large at 1.5 OD. I really want to use both pieces so I can throw a fishing line while parked.slideruleracer wrote: Sun May 19, 2019 10:04 am DJB, that looks awesome!

Thanks!
The first one I bought at Lowes was 1 3/8 OD at the base, but the overall diameter of the umbrella fabric was only 8' and it didn't adjust so I took that one back.
Anybody have any leads on a solid Navy 9', 1 3/8 lower base that tilts?
Thanks!

Re: Tried out our new umbrella holder.
Used mine this last weekend (didn't get a pic). Slide it is a little short. I can stand under the umbrella, but the edges are little low and I have to crouch slightly getting under. In addition, the umbrella is slightly lower (about 8") than the bimini.
I happy with it and not complaining, but you asked me to check on the height and let you know. If it was 8-10" higher a person could go with the 10' or 11' size and overlap with the bimini for really great coverage.
This is on the 2011 242.

Driller did you cut anything off the lower portion of the umbrella pole? On mine I cut 6 or 7 inches off the bottom to make it fit right.
