Still, soaked it all in with a 12 hour day with some friends and our favorite spots on the Chain.
Nice drive up snack stop? Glad you snuck out looked fun!
Yeah, couple food/ice cream boats on the Chain, but Bamboo Johnny's is stellar. They were featured on the Food Network last year, really top quality and not what you would expect from a food boat.

That's a great song which makes one really stop and take minute to appreciate what Memorial Day means. I had forgotten the song. Thanks for brining it back.

Visited the local cemetery today overlooking Lake Erie.

Every year we have each of the kids place seven American flags next to a different branch of service member’s graves. They have to find each branch of the military and place one of five flags at the gravesite.

...plus one for the tomb of the unknown soldier.

...plus one for POW’s anywhere they want.

Gentleman below on a whim was playing Taps at his dad’s gravestone. B-24 pilot who flew 30 missions and made it home. Very moving.

Very cool and respectful and important tradition to pass down. The guy playing taps... touching indeed. Nice post.

Beautiful picture - so glad that the boating season is here after a long winter and cool, wet spring. Where on Tonka is that? My daughter has a friend on Grays Bay and another on Wayzata Bay. We nearly bought a house on the lake when we moved back to MN last year but my wife wanted to be closer to work. We spend many of the summer days up at Gull Lake but have many memories of boating on Minnetonka from my 20’s.
