Welcome from Minnesota! Great looking boat and the Rhine is a beautiful place to go boating. How are the water levels? We were there in early November for a Viking river cruise and the drought had the water levels at near all time lows.

Welcome from Minnesota! Great looking boat and the Rhine is a beautiful place to go boating. How are the water levels? We were there in early November for a Viking river cruise and the drought had the water levels at near all time lows.

Yes, this summer the water level on the Rhine river was on a record low!

But I´m lucky, becauce our marina is close to Offendorf (France) wich is in the last sector of the Rhine that is dammed by locks.

The last lock is in Iffezheim, after Iffezheim the Rhine is "free flowing", but in the dammed sectors they keep the water level at a certain height, so we could do booting all summer long.

The locks are quite big (I think) here are some pics:

Your locks seem bigger than what we have here. Ours are big enough for a large number of kayaks though.

Beautiful part of Germany! We visited Freiburg and Strasbourg very close to where your beautiful Cobalt is docked. Our trip in November was our first time in that part of Germany and we absolutely loved it and will return in the next few years. My great grandfather immigrated from that part of Germany and my last name is Fehr, which nobody here in the U.S. knows how to pronounce but everyone in Germany got right. As you can see from this picture I really enjoyed the bier!!
