Thanks for updating us kas232ca...just over two months to the day.
Such a great color combination too. I call it Blue Angel blue and gold.
Some folks have used the domed registration letters/numbers discussed here....

(there are some other designs discussed in that thread as well)...
PS...just be sure to know your states registration size and shape requirements.

Re: Hi from CA
Welcome from Illinois! Classic colors that will always look good. Little nervous about an oil leak at the front of an engine, main seals are not fun. Did you get any warranty?
Links to both the lettering you have there? I was going to make some red/chrome vinyl for mine, but that looks awesome.Ytmsn wrote: Wed Jan 16, 2019 7:23 am For your registration letters I used 3Dlettering on Ebay. They are a bit pricey but exactly what I wanted, and his products are quality that last a long time. I used domed letters for the boat name and I chrome letters and numbers in the Cobalt font for my registration number to match the Cobalt letters on the sides.

For your stern light you can pick one up at West Marine or Academy. Try to find a stainless version to match the rest of the hardware on your boat.
Do you have an onboard charger? There is a thread here on that, several members have installed them to keep batteries maintained and lasting a long time.

Just search 3dlettering on Ebay. Hes a good seller and always has lots of stuff for sale.

Howdy KAS from Texas! I love your color combo but I am baisis. Lots of great resources here on the site. Everyone loves pictures so keep them coming. Also, we love spending others money so keep rolling on the projects. If you have not already, check the ski locker for the stern light. That is where I found mine when I got my “new to me” boat last year.

Welcome from Austin, TX. My stern light is hidden in the ski locker held high on the Starboard side in some clips. Maybe yours is the same.

Got a message from the seller to check the bow locker under the carpet. Didn't know there was one. Not in the ski locker, but I didn't search super hard.Bobo87 wrote: Wed Jan 16, 2019 10:13 pm Howdy KAS from Texas! I love your color combo but I am baisis. Lots of great resources here on the site. Re: Hi from CA
I assumed PHL since you are in pa. One of my neighbors just had his base change to PHL after moving from the MD-80 to the A320. He said he is going to miss the MD-80.AsLan7 wrote: Thu Jan 17, 2019 10:14 amBWI based.

No big plans. If we can make it work, the majority of this year's trips will be for a possible acquisition on the east coast so I will be filling up on SWA pretzels in the back of the bus.
Looks like a Cirrus would be fun, but would want a turbo for out west. The dream would be a PC-12, but that's not happening anytime soon...

Ahhh, roger that. I was based in Pittsburgh on the MD-80 at one time. Love flying that plane. Very quiet for the pilots too.
Cirrus is a great aircraft but you're right....turbo is a must with the mountains. You'll be my new best friend with either the Cirrus or PC-12..
Of course when I'm not flying, I'm always figuring out how to be boating. Tough during the North East winters. Supposedly a fairly decent sized storm heading our way for the weekend. No complaints though as it has been a fantastic winter so far. Only had to clear the driveway twice. February could be a different story though. Thank goodness we can get out of the weather fairly easily with our craft. Time for another Caribbean trip.

Re: Hi from CA
Ran the boat a few hours yesterday at Lake Havasu. The boat ran really well.
Top speed WOT was 54mph on GPS. That is with 3/4 fuel and 10mph tailwind, minor chop. It probably had 1-3 more mph with more trim adjustments and less fuel. Heading into the wind was 51mph. Outside temp was 81f.
The wind kicked up pretty good later in the afternoon as a storm was moving over the southwest. Got some good docking practice with the wind. I need to remember it might be better to back into a slip sometimes depending on wind. Trailer loading was smoother this trip even with the wind.
What I previously thought was an oil leak is actually power steering fluid leak I believe. I think it is coming from the pump and flinging on the pully. I got it all cleaned up underneath so I can figure out where it is leaking from next time. The level was a bit low, so I topped off. In 2-3 hours of running it probably leaked a tablespoon worth, but looks like more once it flings off.

Yeah, I'm not too concerned. A 12 year old boat with only 104 hours is bound to have a few 'issues'.Big Block Power wrote: Thu Mar 07, 2019 6:14 pm Glad you're getting out. Looks sweet. Hopefully no big deal on the leak.
