We have a manual dump potti and the new ones are super easy and not nasty at all. I looked at several boats with the pump outs and they all either had leaks, water issues, or were broken completely and replaced with a manual dump out. My neighbors have a 28' Regal with a pump out and they have no issues, but they are also an open checkbook maintenance couple.

This is what we bought to put in our boat and as the one who has to clean it out (is that really the Captains job??) I can say it's very clean and easy. Much better than dumping the tanks on my camper, that's for sure.

If you have a few people/kids with you it will need to be emptied daily.

There's a filter on the waste line ? That's one filter I'd never want to change. :🤮

Waste line filter...that's a funny one..
Yeah, after a good BBQ dinner, I doubt the next days' "bowl movement" could pass through a filter.

IMO. The "pump out" porta-potties are a waste of time and money. The "under the seat tank" is 2.5 gallons, and that's an afternoon's worth of pee if the weather is hot and the beer is cold. Makes much more sense to have the "non" pump out PP with the removable tank, so when it is full, you can dump it on that one special neighbors lawn, without having to deal with a suction hose from a marina 10 miles away.

The electric flush has a separate tank under the port side that holds 10 gallons. Now you have the benefit of not having to deal with it for extended periods.
The porcelain toilets are quality, and the "flush" water cleans the entire bowl. Zero smell.
