Need trailer dimensions for a 220

Post by skno »

Im looking for a trailer as my boat came from a storage rack w/o trailer when purchased. Could you all give me some pointers and measurements for a trailer?
Length from coupler to back of bunks?
Overall trailer length?
If a tandem axle trailer has 2 / 3500 lb dexter axles , is it rated for 7000 lbs.?
any other pertinent info would be appreciated.

Measure from stern to the bow eye. It's about 27ft. From the rear of the bunks to the tongue. Yes 2 3500 lbs axles are 7000lbs.

When you get your stern to bow eye let me know.
I know where there is a nice yellow 22 ft trailer is that will be forsale.
Please post a picture of the stem of your boat.

If you want to get your trailer fitted for your boat once you find one, then you can call Cobalt customer service and they will email you the trailer specifications for your year and model of boat that they send to trailer manufacturers.

Skno, I would recommend you contact a trailer company that Cobalt dealers used (mine came on a Heritage for example). Depending on the year of your 220, they likely would have the exact dimensions for that boat already on hand. Also, if you’re buying new, I would recommend you looking into a sealed bearing system like the Vault. Don’t know what the extra cost is but there is no annual maintenance on these so, unless you repack your own bearings (I did not), you would save hundreds of dollars over a 10 year period not getting this done, not to mention time saved. I just had a thread on this in the towing section showing the Vault label.

If not buying new, i would talk to Mr. BBP as it sounds like he has one coming up for sale. He is a trusted source on the forum, except for spelling advice. Lol. Good luck.

Ok I don't have the measurements for that year. Measure stern to bow eye and we can see if we can help you.
