Snap Repair

Post by vans »

I have a few snaps that need replacing, surface studs are pop riveted, anybody been replacing these and are you buying the die for pop rivet gun?
I also have some snaps that don't stay fastened I'd like to replace, thinking snap and stud as a set to replace.
I have purchased some cheap snap repair kits and am not happy, but don't think I need to spend a couple hundred dollars for tools either.

Recommendations?

Thanks

I am interested to see what people come up with on this as well. From searches there seem to be a wide variety of options from super cheap kits to expensive professional tools. I am fine with spending reasonable $$ on a good tool which I will own forever but just don't understand how they work or if the piece linked above is a die for a larger tool etc.
