Limited Trim Range

Post by TinCupp »

Yesterday when headed in for the day from the beach, I attempted to put my outdrive down and it only would go about half way. I could hear the pump trying but it stopped. I put the trim all the way back up and tried again and could only get about 1/3 of it. Repeated attempts, same thing.

Luckily, we were close to the launch so we limped in put it on the trailer and went home. I checked the hydraulic fluid and did a visual check of everything and see no issues. Funny thing is though, now its going up and down. It doesn't seem as smooth as before but its working I guess.

I don't want to get stuck out on the lake though with the motor fully up.

Anyone had this issue before with the Bravo 3? Any recommendations of what to look into?

I could be wrong but I think there are 2 relays on the pump try switching them. If it changes then you know you have a relay issue.

Wasn’t the relay. Bad valves on one of the cylinders. Here is what operation looked like. All fixed up now though - $500 later.
