I did tap and drill into the trailer. It gave me an excuse to buy some really good drill bits.
(I also primed and painted the holes after drilling so no rust would start.) :P

I'm surprised the swim step ladder is still in place with the lower swim platform. Just another thing to catch your toes or your back? Why would the factory still install that.
Not sure why removing the swim platform would make it not coast guard worthy? The boat comes that way from the factory. Unless if you remove it and you now have holes in your boat and it sinks?🤣🤣

I guess I would add a platform from swimplatforms. I would have them install it. They do a great job. Right55555550000000!

I saw swim platforms unit, and they really do provide quick turnaround answers and support it seems like, but after looking at the stock unit vs theirs, man i love the oem look!

Well of course OEM looks nicer. But add the stainless tube around a swim platform and your Good to go.

Only the handle is there to help in hoisting yourself, BBP. Cobalt removed the ladder portion with the extended platform option.

My 2004 226 has the factory platform too, but it also had the four step ladder on the upper deck. I removed it since it prevented someone from sitting there, but mine also has grab handles on the swim platform. Here is a pic before I removed the ladder.

RS your boat looks bombdiggity! I would highly reccomend getting a swimplatforms deck installed. Makes all the difference!

And I did the same on my factory ladder. The 4 step ladder was still there so I took it off and left the handle. Then I had to cut the studs off of each end and grind down the nubs until they were flush. Turned out pretty good, and like A7, it leaves a nice handle to pull yourself up on the deck with. Mrs YT likes it but I usually just jump up without the ladder.

So i went to turn on my water pump yesterday (trying to use all the water in there before winter comes) and it just keeps making noise, it works but no water...it hasnt been used in a while...in the past it would make noise when you initially turn it on then water comes, it builds pressure than it waits for to use the water...yesterday it just kept making noise like its priming but no water ever came out...did my pump go bad ?

Diaphragm probably went bad. That's what mine eventually did as well....would just run with no pressure. You can either rebuild the pump or in my case, I just replaced the pump (as mentioned in the beginning of the thread). It's not too difficult to do on your own. It's mounted right above the batteries in that picture I posted earlier.

I never use mine so I dont have to worry about it, but A7 drains it out and then runs a bit of RV antifreeze through the pump. Then next spring just give it a good flush and you're good to go.
