How did you mount it?
Not sure if this helps but ours comes up from underneath where the vinyl has a slit in it.

The pic below is when I first was looking at our 263 purchase. I have since tucked the wire along that side ridge between the vinyl and fiberglass and then used double sided tape to hold the antenna down.

.
Have you had any reception issues being the antennae is behind the windshield?

If I may suggest.. I am a XM subscriber and I converted my subscription from my car to my " iPhone.

Yep streaming is easier as A7 stated. no module.. no antenna to worry about. use it everywhere and back in the car I unsubscribed it from!

Just a thought considering everything is blue tooth or mp3.

I'm also a current subscriber, but I'm going to go the antennae route to start. It'll be a little better quality sound vice streaming the signal. But if the signal sucks, there's always the streaming part to fall back on.

I was thinking of mounting it on the bow side of the windshield, not sure if having if inside of the windshield the signal would be great. Plus my system is directly below it in the starboard side bow compartment so it's an easy routing for the wire.

We decided to stream satellite radio from our phone app also. As long as you have unlimited data on your phone, this works great. Have had no noticeable problem with sound quality. Same quality as streaming via bluetooth from itunes or pandora and we didn't have to transfer account to new vehicle or add additional account. BUT... i guess if you are out in the ocean where you may have bad phone service there would possibly be an issue. We are mostly on a lake in the midwest.

Hey Welcome aboard. I am a fellow Table Rocker as well! You should go make a post over in the new members section and show off that new r7 of yours!

Also I use the XM app on my phone as well. I just plug into the radio via a USB cable so I am not losing quality over bluetooth. So far it has been awesome for me.
