Try calling steve irving from irving stainless and polishing in kenosha Wisconsin.slideruleracer wrote: Sat Jun 09, 2018 6:08 pm Tbully, if the entire pylon was 1.5" od, would it be a really loose fit into the boat side receiver? In other words, is the 1.675 a nice snug fit?. I'm having a really hard time finding 1.675 od x 1.375 id stainless tube. It's definitely not a normally produced size. I can get it in aluminum or regular steel, but not stainless.. At least that I've found yet.

Re: Umbrella for R series
Slide do you have a pylon for your boat like this?
I've been following this thread and plan on adding the SS piece with this cut-out. It's very similar to the flag mount. The OD is exactly 2" so finding the pipe should be easy. I'm going to try to source an umbrella this week.

Re: Umbrella for R series
No, mine is the twist-lift-lock style. On my 2004, you had to use the fuel cap key to twist it, and then Cobalt switched to a unit that had a little pull handle (no tool needed). I found a source for the pull handle style that was an exact replica of the Cobalt unit, so I swapped mine out for that one.. But on mine, the ski pylon is not removable - well not *normally* removable, I guess I should say.

Re: Umbrella for R series
Ok, I have a bead on some stainless tubing that might work with only a little extra lathe effort. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the contact. They couldn't get it, but referred me to someone who can get me something close, so I'm waiting to hear back for a quote.Big Block Power wrote: Sat Jun 09, 2018 11:12 pmTry calling steve irving from irving stainless and polishing in kenosha Wisconsin.slideruleracer wrote: Sat Jun 09, 2018 6:08 pm Tbully, if the entire pylon was 1.5" od, would it be a really loose fit into the boat side receiver? Re: Umbrella for R series
Well, it's not an R series, but it's an umbrella! I finished it up tonight right before it got dark. I'm going to try it out this weekend and see how it works. I can't imagine Cobalt charging what they charge for something like this. Granted, the umbrella is a cheapie but I can buy a bunch of them if need be. It's a 9' that cranks up and tilts just like the big boys. I put a 2" stainless tube in the ski pylon hole, and boom! Rear shade.

Re: Umbrella for R series
Nice! Do you have enough room to store the umbrella on the 262? In the ski locker maybe?

.
That’s genius YT! First of a kind on a 260 series. Never seen that before.
Nice job my friend

Btw, it’s funny how I want cockpit heat and full sun in our 263 & you’re looking for more shade. Erie boating vs Oklahoma boating...so similar yet so different!
In any event, patent that umbrella.

Oh yes. There’s plenty of room in that ski locker. It’s one of the biggest I have ever seen on any boat.slideruleracer wrote: Tue Jun 12, 2018 10:36 pm Nice! Do you have enough room to store the umbrella on the 262? In the ski locker maybe?

Re: Umbrella for R series
Well, for the R* model folks, I ordered enough material for 4 tubes today. I'll still need someone to confirm the thread size. Tbully, if you an give me an OD of the thread and count the number of threads showing that would help. I'll machine/weld/polish one up and see how long it takes before giving a price.

Thanks. It not the fancyshamncy unit slide is building but it'll work. At what Cobalt charges for these I can throw several in the lake and still be ahead!
