Tuscany-
I'm so sorry for your loss--we are huge animal lovers and it never gets easier. Someone told me once that the pain you feel is your companion's way of reminding you that they may be gone but will never be forgotten. They give us their all unconditionally while never holding back and with no regrets. Based on your words, I have no doubts this was the case and if given the opportunity, I'm positive Rocco would do it all again without hesitation.

I just hope that our furkids think as much of us as we do of them--I'm certain yours do.

Thanks sailor. Yeah, it's not easy, and it's a reminder how short life can be, and that most problems aren't problems at all..
Were heartbroken over our dog..I can't even imagine how a parent must feel when losing a child, or a senior losing their life long spouse.
I can't see GHW Bush living long without Barbara by his side.

Nola, my first dog "Tigger" was a Golden. What is there to say, but maybe the best dog ever. He lived a long life, and we had to put him down because he started to lose all control, and no one wants to live that way. That was tough, but he lived a full life, got me in some hot water with the local judge over his constant sight seeing trips around town  He would flat out run away from Wendy if the door was open. God the stories I have about him.   How many times I bailed him out from the dog catcher, and how many fines I paid. God he was great.
But, we had both Rocco and Gracie to help fill the hole at the time.

Dogs that dont shed are at the top of my list. Yorkies are as dumb as a bag of hammers, but they sure are lovable..

You definitely need the golden doodle! My brother and his family got Willow last year and she is the best dog! Has the best personality! Here she is in her life jacket playing life guard!

I'm a go for the Doodle but my wife is thinking Ridgeback again. Oh well, we have a year or 2 to decide.

We just picked up Belle last week so Sully has a friend. If any of you are on Facebook, you can follow them. They have their own page so you can follow their journey!

Thanks!
Sully is a year and a half old and is an English creme retriever and Belle is a white/creme lab who is 8 weeks. They have been a hoot! I never had 2 dogs before and it is probably the best thing I could have ever done they just play and play.

I can't wait to see how they do on the boat. Sully you can't keep out of the water so he should love it. Belle should follow suit.

The best thing about our Ridgebacks was that while they loved being on the boat they hated getting wet. We never had wet, sloppy dogs on board.

Tuscany......very sorry to hear about what happened. Truely shocking. We lost our 2 Great Danes about 4 months apart,Mom and son, she was 10 which is very old for a Dane and the son from cancer at 5. It's like a injury that just won't heal its always there. My wife is just now starting to talk about getting another one after 3 years and it's still something we don't talk about much. They can never be replaced but you can start a new "thread".

Thanks so much HH.
We’re still in a funk. I wish I could shake it, but it’s just a hole. My pal would be sitting on the chair with me on nights like this when I would joke with you fine people.
We still have the eventual outcome with Gracie, which is getting more ugly by the day.
I guess it’s just part of pet relationships that all of us animal lovers will eventually have to face.
Easier said, than done for all of us.

Well, our Vet came over to our house today and ended Gracie’s suffering, which was becoming worse by the hour.. Although heart wrenching to lose such a beautiful and loving soul, it left us with a positive feeling.. Oddly, we are all incredibly sad, but very happy and at peace that we did everything we could, and we could clearly see it in her eyes that it was time.
The sun was out, and she was on our deck and it was quick.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words and support.
