New - KY Lake

Post by juddmyers »

Just stopped in to say hi. New Cobalt owner and first time boat owner here. Just purchased a 2001 cobalt 262 with 7.4. We will be boating on KY Lake as soon as the weather will allow. Will spend the winter getting some vinyl repaired and cleaning up the hull.

Very cool, JM. You, NautiGirl and Alaskabound who are also on this site will be neighbors!

To post any pics, just click on "full editor & preview" if not already done and then on attachments in the lower left corner. We love them!
Again, welcome aboard. :D ....and a sample 2001 7.4MPI 262 from KY after that. :D

That's a great rig JuddM!
Almost the exact set up we had with the Volvo out drive. Our engine was the VP 8.1 GI 380HP and a 2002 model.
Again, great boat! You will have many great memories on her. I know we have.

Getting prices now to redo the interior .. I hate that i will lose th cobalt emplem that is sewn in when i do this.. but there are really so many spots that need repairing that I think I will just do it all.

Our interior held up very well with the exception of one area. It is one of the few weak points in the boat. Kids love to jump off the sun deck cushions (as can be seen in the prior post :D ). Between that and the sun, you will observe the top of these cushions start to crack. You can see it in the lower part of the picture of our 262 interior. If you get yours redone, don't skimp on that area.

Awesome Judd from a fellow 262 owner! When you get your seats redone be sure to ask them if they can do a new embroidery for the logo .For most shops it shouldn't be any big deal. I had mine done on my 240.

Also you can buy most of the factory vinyl if you want that. Maybe you can get that already sewn in? Yt had a good point though.

Another Ky welcome Judd. We are in Shepherdsville, are Cat fans & boat at Laurel Lake. Years ago trailered the boat to Ky. lake. That is some serious water. Had an 18' Sea Ray then but could have used a much bigger boat. Also went to Dale Hollow several times where Nauti goes. Ky. Is blessed with some beautiful lakes. Welcome.
