2020 25SC with manual arch - once I loosen the two knobs on the arch plate, do I simply yank on the front of it to pull it down?
Last thing I want to do is have it slam down and damage the boat.
Does this require a couple of folks (due to weight) or is it as simple as it appears?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Manual Folding Arch - 1 Person or 2 Person job
Easily a one person job. Loosen the knobs and push the arch forward. Its on gas struts so it wont fall forward or back on its own and they make it pretty easy to lower it with one hand.
The worst part is ours does not stay locked down. I believe some of the newer arches have a locking mechanism to keep them locked, but I dont know what year that was added.
Easiest solution I have found is to run a dock line over the arch and to the mid cleat. Works well, and can be done with one person, but does require holding the arch down while also cleating the line off.
Pic to let you see how we do it along with the gas struts that help move the arch.
Good luck.

Re: Manual Folding Arch - 1 Person or 2 Person job
I have a 2019 25SC and my experience has been a little different. My gas struts seem to be pretty strong on the return. Once the knobs are loosened, I can pull the arch down by myself, but it's usually an effort to do so. Once it's pulled down, there is a catch mechanism on the starboard side that will keep the arch in the lowered position. I think it's designed to automatically engage once the arch is pulled down, but I usually need to give it some help, either from another person or me holding a long screwdriver, stick, etc. and engaging the catch.
Likewise when raising the arch, I think the catch is designed to retract when the arch is slightly lowered again, catch disengages, then allow the arch to raise back up. Again, mine has a pretty strong return, so I hold it back from slamming back into place. And when disengaging the catch on raising, I usually have to give it help again, just like when lowering.
Hopefully that all made sense. If you've been trying to lower/raise it already, you likely know what I'm talking about.

Thanks for the responses, was muchado about nothing as once the knobs were opened up the arch moved down and the built in latch holds it in place. Appreciate the responses and pictures.

Just my two cents; I would not leave the arch down while trailering. Its intention is only temporary like going under a low bridge or squeaking thru a garage door.
