Anchor Light on tower
New to the board! I purchased a 2022 cobalt cs23 surf in October. The anchor light on the tower had been damaged when I purchased the boat. They mailed me a new light and I am looking for help to install. My boat guy is covered up and frankly has more important jobs than installing a light so it may be a bit before he gets to me. I am trying to save myself a trip to the cobalt dealership as the closest is a couple hours away. Anyone have a video or tutorial on how to install the light? Thanks.

Re: Anchor Light on tower
Is there a plastic plug on the bottom side of the tower right below the light? If not, it looks like there may be some other way to get at the bolts/wires with the light installed.

Re: Anchor Light on tower
There is not a plug on the under side of the tower. There is a hole for the wires on the top, and two small holes on each side. I think I can take the top off to access how to screw in the small bolts. However, I cannot feel the wires inside the tower (albeit I cannot reach far). Was not sure if anyone had ideas on how to fish the wires out of the tower, or had experience replacing one of these in the past.

It's hard to guess without pictures, and it's a pretty rare thing to go wrong. Can you post a picture of the light assembly on the tower? Someone may be able to chime in based on what they see.
The top part of the light assembly can often separate from the bottom part, providing access to the screws to screw it in. From there, it's just a matter of transferring the wires from the old light to the new one.

Thank you.. You are correct that the top part (the light) unscrews which I assume will give me access to the screws. The assembly on the tower is simply holes drilled into the tower and the part in the picture simply sits on top of the tower. I will try to take better pictures this weekend.

Re: Anchor Light on tower
I replaced my anchor light on my tower last season. Not the same boat, but probably same design for the light portion since they all use Samson towers I believe. The light on top in your picture looks the same as the light I replaced. The entire part you have in your hand shouldn't have to be replaced, just the light, if I'm not mistaken. I took the light off with a quarter turn, then it pulled up and off. The wires should be easy enough to get to once that's done, and have enough slack that you can pull them up a little to splice. Obviously be careful not to drop the feed wires down into the tower, or you'll spend some time fishing those out to connect to the new light.

Re: Anchor Light on tower
There in lies the problem. Whoever took the light off took the entire apparatus off and the wires are in the tower. I’m just going to have to wait until my boat guy can get to me. Thanks for all the replies though!

Re: Anchor Light on tower
On my tower there are some white rubber plugs at various parts, I believe for speakers, but if you take these out you may be able to see the wires??
What type of tower do you have? folding? fixed? electric folding?
See if you can identify where the wires go up into the tower, and if the wires are still there. If not, maybe try to follow the wire from underneath the helm "anchor" light button up into the tower?
You will possibly need to run new wires, with something like this.

Re: Anchor Light on tower
Thanks! I have a wire puller. As for the plugs, I have not seen those. The tower is a folding tower. I may just go out there and fold the tower down and see if the wires enter at that point. Thanks again for the suggestions.
