Will Boatmate R5 trailer work for R5 Surf

I am in need of a trailer for my R5 Surf. I have found a Boatmate for an R5, Will it work for the surf?

Not likely but you may be able to have it modified.

The back crossbar needs to be cut out and then reinforced. Also, but not sure, the surf may sit higher on the trailer.

Ask a dealer!

I can tell you that it will not fit. Even if you perform the suggested modification it'll sit way to low.

Depends on how handy you are with a welder. The surf models need to sit higher on the trailer because the drive wont trim up as far as a standard lower unit. The hull on a non surf is the same as a surf so the bunks will fit fine you will just be dragging your prop’s and lower unit on the ground. My R5 sits about an inch above the fenders. I’ve seen a few R5 surf’s on trailers and they sit 4 or 5 inches higher, maybe more. The right person could make it work but it would take quite a bit of work.
