Looks like a good fit. You will get faster with practice.
Since you have the proper holes for the arch, that should make it easier to use when you're on the water.
Our star side is open to the dock walkway. We put the port side on front to back, then work our way bow to stern on the other side.

Mine is a pain in the water and that's why I know have a bow and cockpit cover. But you will find the trick to it.

So looks like it's a no go for that cover. I guess I'll stick with the tonneau cover as you did.

So how much did that cost?

$531.60, which is about five times the cost of the el-cheapo Empire cover that didn't work. The Sunbrella version would have cost over twice that at $1136.15.

Bald Mikes Cover.jpg

There were three different covers available for my 240; a plain jane version, a bimini but no tower version, and a tower with the extended swim platform version (what I have). The prices varied quite a bit between these versions. For example, my Sharkskin Plus cost $531.60, but the plain jane version would have cost only $396.55. The Sunbrella version ranged from $1136.15 to $927.65, over a $200 cost difference. Seeing what is involved in the extra cutouts and velcro required for a bimini or tower, I can see how it would cost more to make than a plain jane cover without any cutouts.

Thanks!! My son said it didn’t look very good as it was too loose. He suggested that I put it in the washer and dryer to shrink it. I just hope it helps keep the boat cleaner.

On a side note Mike at Bald Mike’s was great to work with. He was very patient in answering all of my questions and concerns. Mike had recommended that I get two extra vents to help my vent poles spread the load better. I had trouble finding the vents on the webpage and Mike graciously tossed in the two vents at no charge.

You can see the discount Bald Mike’s offers on these covers as compared to buying directly from Westland.

Put my boat away for the winter today - changed oil, winterized and put the winter cover on it. Previous owner had this cover made for it, first time I have used it. It's custom, nice, but a real PIA to put on - doubt I would use it except for winter storage.

That is a super nice cover. Sunbrella?

What is hard about putting your cover on? Just the sheer size and weight?

Will your boat stay all winter on this steel base? I haven’t seen anything like that before - is it common on the east coast?

It’s Sunbrella. It’s pretty heavy and just the size, I guess it was not too bad, doing it with the boat in the water would be hard.
The boat is on a wash rack in the picture, it stays in the building you see behind it. Cover is a bit of overkill, but since I have it might as well use it. Biggest mess I see is dust and especially pollen in the spring.

Cover looks nice. That's a great parking spot there for the R5. Looks to be a Cobalt section in that building.
