Cobalt EVA Flooring

Post by garethcayman »

Howdy All,

I was wondering if anyone with an older boat has looked at these Cobalt EVA floor add-ons?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403395126595

"EVA floor is 6mm or 1/4inch thick, two-tone color. The floor comes with marine backing adhesive, it is peel and stick installation. Customers do not need to prepare or order glue to install it."

It looks like you can get them for the swim platform and the rest of the boat if you want like they do on the newer boats.

I thought this was very cool, but wondering on practicalities, cleaning, toughness, etc.... I spent most of my time cleaning the deck on the 282... will this be better or worse?

Anyone tried this or can comment how it works on a newer boat? Thanks

Hi there, i'm from Canada and i went with Ultradeck. They even had my template. As long as you prep the floor and clean it well, it should last a while.

That's sharp but if he wasn't in the Arctic that would get hot!

Thanks for referral - https://www.ultradeck.ca/
I just contacted them & got a very prompt response (several actually, they were very responsive and courteous in their replies to my various questions) - the great news is they already have pattern for my 232 and I think the quote was very fairly priced. Indeed I in turn referred to a local friend and he said my quote was about 2/3 of what he had been quoted by a local custom shop to fit his smaller SeaRay.

This was a question I asked - I specifically asked about Navy (as the primary base colour) which would have been a great contrast visually on my predominantly white boat - he advised against it - but because the darker colours show up lint & dirt so much more readily; however as far as temperature, he said even the dark colours do NOT get hot.
Incidentally my wife stepped on one of the OEM carpet metal fastening buttons and certainly hopped off that quickly!!

I think this is definitely going to be an off-season project.
